En returns home one night to find a group of bandits ravaging his village. He's about to be killed by them, when suddenly, a swordsman named Jianke saves him. After the raid leaves the town devastated, En convinces Jianke to teach him swordsmanship so that he can help others like Jianke helped him. Jianke agrees to this, but tells En that if he wants to protect others in their kingdom, he must become a Cavalier.
