Lloyd
noticed
it
before
us,
which
saved
both
of
our
lives.
It
was
a
serpent
pool.
The
stream
we
followed
flowed
into
a
large
moat,
which
surrounded
the
ancient-looking
temple.
The
moat
was
about
thirty
feet
wide,
as
I
noticed
thousands
of
serpents
writhing
their
bodies
and
flashing
their
fangs
at
Lucy
and
I.
I
could
see
some
were
tangled
together,
some
were
standing
upright,
and
some
of
the
serpents
just
slithered
around
the
moat.
“The
fuckin’
hell
is
this?”
Lloyd
asked
incredulously.
Lucy
ran
behind
the
two
of
us
in
fear.
